Along with punk & the Ska/reggae scene in the UK, I saw Quadrophenia as an impressionable 12 year old. Being a Mod was all I wanted to be. The Who, Small Faces, The Pretty Things, The Yardbirds & all that Beatles British Invasion stuff. I then discovered psychedelics a couple of years later & started listening to the likes of The 13th Floor Elevators, Electric Prunes, The Chocolate Watchband & being introduced to The Pebbles & Rubble compilations. it all made sense, or un-sense in an explosion of colourful sounds & all the glorious dischord, fuzz & not so subtle lyrics, was totally where it was at, in the English mid eighties. Let the idiots have all the pop rubbish in the world. It could never match the underground for total cool. I really love what you & all the other bloggers with equally good tastes in music do for the likes of me. I'm listening to music I thought I'd never ever hear again, many many thanks. Peace :-)
